Here’s the thing… AI is just a convenient layer of obfuscation. Without the layer, those in power would just do it anyway and still rarely be held accountable.

While I have mostly negative feelings toward AI and would rather remove any potential layers of obfuscation so that the public can better see the reality firnwhat it is, the powerful need to be held to account directly. Targeting AI for this kind of thing is just a distraction Putting the focus on AI alone is what they’d want.

It’s true for every type of societal issue. Let’s just assume that for every problem, number one thing that we need to do is eat the rich hold the powerful accountable. But while we figure out how to do that, let’s at least not ignore the actual smaller problem that we’re dealing with.
A house is on fire because of poor regulations and corruption, poor regulations and corruption needs to be dealt with for sure. A house is on fire though, so it’s also important to deal with.

I agree and also disagree. I’m not saying ignore it. Just be aware that there will almost always be an array distracting “smaller problems”. I just advise we not spend so much time focusing on smaller problems that the root cause is ignored. Just don’t let them be chaff.

The lack of any meaningful accountability for any of this is frustrating.

I fully believe Donald met with all of these bastards behind closed doors and told them they have free reign to do whatever the fuck they want as long as he’s president.

“Inevitable” That’s what my sister-in-law said, believing AI is “nothing to be afraid of”.

The samey Youtube thumbnails and announcement notices on Facebook are fucking annoying, to begin with. It does not help that government and politicians are all gung-ho for slop… because profits.

Yeah it’s really getting to me how people are acting like what’s happening with AI is the only way it can happen.

I don’t know why but this reads with the cadence of Farnsworth from Futurama to me.

You should also mention that the robot helps others with bank robberies, and that they can even choose its outfit—which could make the robot look really cool—but that the lion’s share of the loot still goes to you.

The money in a Bank isn’t yours, never was. You pay for it that the Bank give you somewhat of it. Using an bot to rob a Bank isn’t really not the worst you can do with AI.
