I’m happy that they’re trying to be diverse, but they’re going about it the worst possible way.

In middle school, late 90s, I knew an Asian girl who was in commercials. I remember her talking about it later on in high school that she was explicitly there to add diversity to the commercial and she knew it.

I bring this up because we’ve artificially made things look more equal as a society even when they were not. Always push back for actual numbers, be it diversity in schools or anything else.

I went to elementary school in the 70s in California, middle class--back when there was still a middle class. Until high school I only saw black people on TV (The Jefferson’s, Sanford and Son, Flip Wilson, etc.) and sometimes around town. In high school there were two black students.

We can’t even have real Black tokens anymore? They’re just generating Black tokens? They’re taking our jerbs. /S

I like how everyone is ignoring how it is somehow ‘problematic’ that there happens to be a school class somewhere that just happens to only have with kids in it.
