You know, it already seems like my instincts tell me it’s too much, I want to throw a chair at the monitor so I can’t hear anymore, smash my phone by throwing it against the wall or smash it with my hands. It’s a real nightmare, I already feel like I’m living in a dystopia like 1984. And this is only the voice, a similar story with the video.
What you’re experiencing is uncanny valley.
I hate that i notice it now. When they mispronounced the same word, with the exact same inflection, it just makes me give up on the video.
There’s just something about a real human talking that makes me connect with the material more.
I get annoyed at everything about it.
Yup, had a robo call that was so real that the only reason I think it was a robo call is that they were way too kind to be a call center worker.
Yep, same.
I’ve noticed for a long while. I don’t get my feathers ruffled over it, though.
Peace be upon you. To your question: Yes and no. I find it harmless, almost even creative, when beautiful music mixes are made, or when one of my favorite actors says something funny. But at the same time, it’s very dangerous. And by the way, this is a threat to all voice actors and dubbing professionals. I come from Germany, where dubbing is really important. In any case, it has pros and cons. It depends on who uses it. Actually I don’t blame the AI itself, but rather the people who misuse it.
