There are some tangential genres that are still decent. Bluegrass still has some proper good people in it for example.
When it’s that Appalachian style I think it’s considered more bluegrass than country. Country is a pretty gross genre anymore.
Appalachian may be one of the only styles of country that isn’t gross yet.
