Dolphin as well for Wii games. I was surprised when my 5 year old phone I paid maybe 150$ for could play most Wii games with zero lag.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•A US charity plans to use AI to monitor its Gaza classrooms for 'hateful' speech

Gary and Ash are half brother. Gary knows about the affair, that’s why he hates Ash. In his teenage brain, his mother left because of Ash not because of his horny dad.
Ah ok, ya I wasn’t thinking like that. I figured Gaza, global warming and Ice would be the most important but clearly the right doesn’t give a fuck about any of those.
It’s insane that datacenters are “the” issue. Not that it isn’t one, but how the fuck is that the most important thing. I feel like this is propaganda.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Why is AI making art and writing poetry, while we do the menial labor?
3·10 days agoTbh, I figure there are robots for all that, they just aren’t LLMs and usually cost more than what folks are asking for the same job in some cases.

World News@lemmy.world•OpenAI disclose another hack on government department in AustraliaEnglish
5·13 days agoIt’s to convince the public we need strict regulations. They are working around the clock to get open source models banned. It’s impossible to stop regular users from using them but laws about what tools a business can legally use would force half the economy into subscription services in their favor.
They fine tuned on hacking datasets, removed all alignment and gave it a shoddy excuse of a sandbox so the worst would happen.

62·15 days agoMost of you need to get a grip. It’s a tool, OpenAI might serve it as part of their offer but they don’t own it.
This doesn’t even look like what their models output, it’s probably Qwen.
And before you go on a diatribe about the environment, datacenters would be being built next to windfarms if it wasn’t for the oil industry and it’s bribes. AI isn’t the cause of global warming, it’s just a scape goat.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•The real AI threat isn’t China, it’s accelerationism
5·23 days agoThe real danger is a dystopian state where AI captures half of all jobs while regulations create a soft monopoly for three companies. They will charge prices low enough to replace you but high enough that you can’t turn around and use it to compete against your old boss.
It can mean a request or a command. It’s the right use of the word I think.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Anyone who walks through the city with the glasses would have to inform passers-by in advance orally or even wear safety vests with inscriptions in order to meet the requirements of the European Court
7·1 month agoIt’s great to see it be taken seriously. I think it should be broadened to any camera that’s hard to notice since someone can just do this with anything wearable. I’m not sure what should be done about having a phone in ones front pocket though, since it feels like the same but I figure phone need to be treated differently.
I figure there should be exceptions for blind people as well.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•This is what happens when AI is allowed full control of system-critical assets
51·1 month agoFor four minutes, heritage conservationist Udaya Kumar P L watched an AI agent wreak havoc on his computer. The agent was testing software it was developing and clearing the cache when “a quoting error in an AI-generated command turned the instruction into ‘delete everything’”. “When it understood and tried to kill the process, its safety system blocked the kill. Twice… The safety layer permitted the destruction,” Udaya wrote on X. A former IT professional, he eventually shut down the the computer.
So this guy watched it do it for four minutes, and closed the computer instead of just clicking the little stop symbol. No backup and working in a workspace with basically everything in it. Guy should be fired lol, completely tech illiterate. They lost 15% of their data, all kept only on that one computer apparently.
Of course OP only posted a picture of the headline. Wonder why.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•This is the art equivalent of "A computer cannot be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision"
51·1 month agoI love when people try to define art to suit their argument. That is really what art is about.
That’s never going to happen. The lawsuits are about who owns the models, they aren’t there to stop or even hinder AI. It’s a circus to kill open source and force us into subscription based products.
The record companies are looking to get paid, not fuck over adobe lol. All lawsuits related to this currently are pro corporation. Most of them are even win-win situations for the AI companies themselves.
