It is how they are taught/programed, when one false argument fails they move down to the level. Depending how good they are, destroy 2-3 levels of false shit and they end up just name calling.

Yeah while Lemmy has been great for refugees from reddit. Lemmy’s decentralized approach makes it very difficult to deal with bad faith actors.
More than a few extremely bad trolls/people that were banned from Reddit for very good reasons have infected Lemmy over the past few years.
