I do and masochism/suffering doesn’t bring you closer to God, glorifying suffering isn’t knowing God, helping others brings you closer to God. Go help someone instead of expecting them to fill their bellies with faith.

I was homeless a few times as a kid/teen and I can thankfully say fuck that and I would never glorify it. It definitely changed who I could have been but I also wouldn’t have the life I currently enjoy. But I would never justify, recommend or rationalize it. The person writing this poem either has never been homeless or is delusional.
