Thanks. I feel so weird about AI. I used to abhor it, but I’ve recently moved and changed professional environments and I’m surrounded by people who use it. So I tried Claude and it turned out to be a fantastic tool. But there’s just so much wrong with using it, to me. Fucks the climate, massive resource drain, in the current capitalist system it will not create more wealth, just lower labor costs, and by using it I feel like I legitimise it and there’s all the stuff about how its really messing up a bunch of people and kids.
I know it’s always been like that with new tech (there’s articles from teachers mad when kids went from writing on chalkboards to just writing on paper), but - like with all new tech - there are undeniably many issues with it and, especially, how it is implemented. I wish I could just tune out from that kind of stuff.
