Hey guys! I’m looking for a alternative to google drive and came up with those 2 options. Which one you guys reccomend?
Don’t get near filen. Their speeds are abysmally slow. I switched to usb drives over that shit
Really? Is that bad?
I’m trying https://koofr.eu/ first 10 GB are free. So far so good.
Your experience may vary but I soon closed the account after buying their promises. Lousy speeds, lousy interopability and lousy support.
- I am on Fibre to the premises connection
I am using vault. But i want to use more open source apps.
I’m using filen.io and am very happy
Thanks! Gonna try it.
My solution: Use a NAS on my Lan to store files which backs up to an OVH S3. The S3 is accessible from Android or Linux if required.
I host a Nextcloud instance. Tbh Nextcloud runs like crap but it works fine for my one-user use case. As someone else under this post says, it tries to do everything and does everything badly. I would’ve probably chosen something more lightweight and written in something other than PHP if I were doing my self-hosting setup from scratch. But you can always self-host; if privacy and digital sovereignty is your concern, you can’t beat self-hosting.
