Sources on this? The PRC only blocks western surveillance platforms because they’re incredibly dangerous to let them loose in your country. They’re one of the few countries not naive enough to let facebook and google take over their social media landscape.

Capitalists are a tiny minority of the population, and only got there through exploitation of labor power. You can call this “repression” if you like, but its basic self-defense. People are righteous in resisting exploitation.

These apps have their place, but they won’t get you fluent as quickly as listening to native speakers with context.

It always puts me to shame when I learn how many languages most communists spoke. Like Marx learned English and Russian to be able to study those country’s economics. Engels was apparently fluent in 12, and could read 20 languages.

Agree, we 100% need to push back against NATO’s tanks, bombing and encroachment. The US and Israel must be defeated at all costs.

The PRC doesn’t just allow criticism and freedom of speech, it acts on it, unlike western countries where everyone (arguably) has the freedom to shout into the void and change nothing. The CPC is the world’s biggest pollster, which constantly gets feedback from its citizens, and acts on them.

Thx. Yep so far the strategy has been “contact your regulators emails”, which doesn’t have much affect, since google can easily ignore those. Having many devs go on strike and promise to remove their apps from google play, is much harder to ignore.

There’s nothing wrong with thinking highly of a country, especially one on an upward trajectory in so many ways: working to end world poverty, end dependence on fossil fuels via a green energy revolution, and put a stop to the low-wage trap that US imperialism has imposed on the global south.

The only reason these seem offensive to you, is that you’re propagandized to hate the geopolitical enemies of the US police state (and its vassals), so anyone saying something positive about them must be heresy that demands a public condemnation.

If I spoke highly of any other US enemy (like Cuba or Venezuela or the DPRK), it’d likely evoke the same reaction, but if I spoke highly of a neutral country like Tanzania, Malaysia, or Switzerland, it wouldn’t need the same condemnation.
